The uncertain future of Gazprom: the moment of truth is approaching

European Energy Review publishes an article by Andrej Tibold an independent analyst on Eurasian energy affairs, which says that the moment of truth is approaching for Gazprom in two or three years’ time. Gazprom must either prove it can remain competitive or the Russian Government will lift its monopoly over Russian gas. It is becoming ever clearer that Russia's gas export strategy cannot continue as usual, if Russia wants to remain a leading global player. But it remains to be seen therefore whether Gazprom will remain a synonym for Russian gas exports in the coming years.
