Russia’s liberal new Cabinet

In a commentary for ForeignPolicy.com, Anders Aslund, senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, argues that the new Russian Cabinet has a liberal flavour. Three-quarters of the ministers are new - 20 out of 28 - and the Cabinet will be dominated by middle-aged liberal technocrats with high qualifications. Surprisingly, given his diminished standing, this looks almost entirely like a Dmitry Medvedev Cabinet.
